LA Favorites // Self Care, Healing, Movement, Holistic Health

LA is the mecca to EVERYTHING I love about wellness: self care, yoga + movement, holistic health and good food. I adore this place I’ve called home and I’m sharing all my best kept secrets and favorites from yoga studios to spas and date night restaurants. This is the first post of a three-part series that’s highlighting my favorite wellness studios, spa, salons, massage studios, and workouts.

While this city is magical, it can be a bit overwhelming to find spots you can love and trust so I’m hoping to share what’s worked for me to help you explore the city and find what works for you!

WELLNESS

Sollis Health: Santa Monica + Beverly Hills

I’ve been going to Sollis Health for all my check ups, wellness visits and if any of the kids get into an accident we choose this over the ER or urgent care. I went in for a wellness exam that included all my blood work, expansive evaluation and physical exam. I felt so safe and supported! Their memberships include medical center visits, 24/7 telemedicine, unlimited covid-testing, travel medicine, remote care coordination, strep/flu tests, prescription fulfillment etc. There are additional services such as house calls, advanced imaging & IV infusions.

Vie Healing: West Hollywood + Beverly Hills

A blend of ancient Eastern wellness techniques with contemporary tools and proprietary products to offer an intentional and holistic approach to healing. I go here for their Acupuncture and Cupping Therapy.

Pause Studio: Venice + West Hollywood

Wellness services that boost immunity and support physical and mental recovery to help you “LIVE BETTER.” My go-to studio for float therapy and hot/cold therapy as they offer both infrared saunas and cold plunges. Great for a nervous system reset!

Parsley Health: Nationwide

Parsley Health works to build a new operating system for primary care medicine—one that combines modern medicine and smart technology with a functional, whole body approach that anyone can benefit from. They can help treat everything from autoimmune diseases to digestive issues, hormonal health, mental health, heart health and pediatric health.

Hydration Room: Santa Monica + West Hollywood

The Hydration Room integrates both allopathic and osteopathic medicine into customized vitamin injection and IV therapies. I’ve been going here for YEARS for IV Therapy whethers it’s for energy or recovery, or hydration or jet lag. If I’ve been overworked or back to back travel or need a little boost ahead of my week I’ll schedule an IV and feel back to myself.

BEAUTY

Liliana Felleti (@lilianafelleti): Venice

Organic and vegan friendly lashes! I’ve been doing eyelash extensions and my brows for YEARS now and I love that I can wake up feeling put together with no makeup on.

Glamsquad (at-home service) and Dry Bar (throughout LA)

When it comes to getting ready for shootings, events, etc. I rely on the Glamsquad team to come help get me “camera ready.” They come to your home and give you the full treatment which is so great for a mama with a baby at home! When I can I also love getting a blow out done at Dry Bar. It’s such a relaxing and beautiful salon and the team really knows what they’re doing.

Marjan Mirani, DDS: Beverly Hills

I've been seeing Mirani for years now and trust her ENTIRELY. Nothing more intimate than someone in your mouth and she always makes my visits quick, painless and enjoyable. I love getting my whitening done with her too before travel or events. Mention my name for a discount on whitening!

MASSAGES

The NOW Massage: Santa Monica, West Hollywood, South Bay, Studio City, Silverlake

So good for a little mid-week 25, 50, or 80 minute massage. The NOW offers a space to escape the daily pressures of  life and recharge your energy and spirit through the healing benefits of massage therapy. It’s also one of my favorite gifts for friends and family - highly recommend!!

IMD Health & Wellness Beauty Spa: Beverly Hills

Lymphatic support!! Lymphatic treatments help move out old toxins and move waste throughout the body and keep me feeling light. You’ve never had a treatment quite like this before!

Tomoko Spa: Beverly Hills

The best massage and Japanese Spa experience in LA! I love their couple massages and have gone with Adi a few times. So wonderful to indulge in if you’re looking for some connection with your partner.

FACIALS

Dermalogica: West Hollywood

I routinely get a facial for maintenance and as a general self-care practice. It’s “me” time whenever I go to get a facial or massage. It’s time away from kids, husband, friends and everyone in order to turn inward and reconnect with myself and feel amazing in my skin and body after!

Naya Beauty Salon: West LA

I got here for micro needling and facials that keep my skin glowing + clear. Love wearing the least amount of makeup possible and trying to book regular facials lets me get away with just some dewy SPF.

WORKOUT STUDIOS

I love mixing up ways I move my body and don’t stick to a structured routine. It’s all INTUITIVE. Here is a highlight of some of my favorite workout studios in LA. If you like mixing things up like me definitely check out ClassPass which offers you versatility in your workouts and the options to try local studios without buying a membership at each studio.

The Wave Silent Disco: Guided dancing and movement on the beach!

Pilates Platinum: My FAVORITE pilates studio using the Pilates machine, the Reformer. It’s a small local studio that feels like family.

Studio Elevate LA: Small group pilates studio and private pilates for when I need some one-on-one motivation and coaching.

Barry’s: Best HIIT workout studio in LA. It’s a combination of cardio (treadmill) and strength training (floor/weights). So great for an all-over body workout.

The Class: A music-driven workout experience that borrows from yoga in its spirit, a rock concert in its energy, and bootcamp in its grit. Digital studio.

Melissa Wood Health: Online pilates classes for whenever I need a quick boost. A series of slow controlled, low impact movements combining yoga and Pilates to sculpt long lean lines throughout your body.

Platefit: Platefit is a 27-minute high-intensity interval training workout done on individual Power Plates with guided instruction, carefully curated music, and a dynamic experience that will challenge you, strengthen you, and renew you.

YOGA STUDIOS

Sweat Yoga: Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Playa Vista, Little Tokyo + Manhattan Beach

I love to go to this studio to get my sweat on! This is my go-to studio when I want to reach max energy levels and obtain full efficiency. The heat helps you get into poses quickly and safely, plus the increase of sweat is a great toxin flush.

Love Yoga: Venice

Stepping into this studio instantly transports me into a focused, vibrant headspace. The teachers are fantastic and encourage a perspective-shifting dialogue. The classes here extend far beyond the mat with a packed schedule full of yoga, workshops and retreats.

Power Yoga: Santa Monica

This studio holds a special place in my heart as it was the first place I practiced yoga when I moved to LA. The founder of this beautiful studio, Bryan Kest started it to offer space for people to explore their freedom, discovery and creative expression. The teachers here are incredible and I can guarantee you’ll leave feeling invigorated and confident!

SoulPlay Yoga: Culver City

I can’t list my LA favorite yoga studios without mentioning this fun, playful studio! This one is such a gem. For one, it offers the most wonderful children’s yoga class that both Kai and Leo attend weekly. This class encourages their imagination while also building their small muscles, mental awareness and focus. Bonus, this studio also offers pre- and post-natal classes for expectant and new mamas.
